Service Sector - Reuters

Reuters is a global provider of information services. Reuters employs approximately 15,000 staff in 91 countries; with a 2004 turnover of £2.9billion (including InstinetGroup Inc). After an extended period of rapid growth in sales and profitability, performance suffered as the rate of growth slowed.

To return the business to its former level of financial performance the business has focussed its effort on its Fast Forward programme, the success of which is witnessed by Reuters recently announced return to profitability.

Integral to this programme is the Profitability Insights Project - this has a clear focus on understanding profitability, processes, activities and performance in such a way that business planning, budgeting, reporting and control is better informed and more effective.

Bellis-Jones Hill is supporting Reuters using the Prodacapo Performance Management solution.

Manufacturing and Engineering - ABB

ABB is the largest single Prodacapo client in the world and has for ABC/ABM business process improvement and performance management in over 250 subsidiaries since 1996.

As might be expected, these implementations have varied considerably in size and complexity and cover a wide range of business sectors within ABB.

The nature of the implementations has also varied widely from the use of Prodacapo on a once-off basis to facilitate process and business improvement through to Prodacapo becoming a fully embedded source of Activity Based Management reporting and control information on a regular, routine basis. The average Prodacapo implementation payback has been less than four months.

Utilities sector Sydney Water

Sydney Water is recognised globally as a leading utility company that has developed world-class management practices.

In 2001, it recognised that it needed to implement ABC/M to support in its journey through deregulation and an ABC/M system to support this.

As a public utility, there were strict due diligence protocols to be observed.
